In this research, concrete samples were prepared with different ratios of Superplasticizer (0%, 0.5%, 1%, and 1.5%) by weight of concrete and Polypropylene fiber (0% and 1%) by weight of concrete exposed to temperatures (24°C, 100°C, 300°C, and 500°C). All specimens were exposed to two hours heating duration and tested at age of 28 days. Concrete compressive strength and splitting strength were measured after exposure to elevated temperatures. The results show that the concrete compressive and splitting strength increases with the increase of Superplasticizer dosages. The optimum ratio of Superplasticizer with Polypropylene fiber was found to be 1%. The results also shown that increasing the temperatures decrease both concrete compressive and splitting strength.
2023-11-22T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2023 http://www.gdzjg.org/index.php/JOL/article/view/1588Towards Sustainable and Resilient High-Density Cities through Planning for the Construction of the Low-Rise Building: A Case Study from Sudan2023-11-24T10:03:27+00:00Youssef Kassem, Hüseyin Gökçekuş, Mohamed Elmubark & Rayan Abdelmoniems@s.b
The rapid urbanization and population growth in Sudan have led to increasing demand for sustainable and resilient housing solutions in high-density urban areas This study aims to provide a low-rise residential building with a high-density population and to increase the quality of life by creating a sustainable community and solving the shortage of electrical problems in the city of Khartoum, Sudan by using solar PV panels on the rooftop of residential building the methods of this study conducted both qualitative and quantitative methods to discuss climate change in Sudan and data analysis with climate consultant software and calculating the electricity demand and evaluating the unique climatic conditions of Khartoum, The results of this study offer valuable insights into the formulation of best design guidelines through the utilization of Building Information Modeling (BIM) software. We conducted simulations and sun studies to ascertain optimal shading directions and sun angles, which further enhances the energy efficiency and overall sustainability of the low-rise buildings. Through this study, we strive to provide a replicable and scalable blueprint for sustainable urban development in high-density cities across Sudan and beyond. The proposed approach aims to empower local communities with access to affordable, eco-friendly housing options and a reliable renewable energy source, fostering greater socio-economic development and environmental sustainability.
2023-11-24T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2023
